Intro

It was a normal dull day on Mango Island, we find the cat-kid Teo alongside Mike, Jack and Samantha sitting by a table with baskets of mangos around them. Teo as usual, sat on the hard concrete while the other three sat on wooden chairs, Teo was pretty much used to this as this wasn’t the first time he sat on the concrete and will certainly not be the last, not as long as Mike does something about it since he loves to pick on Teo for being different

“Samantha seriously!” said Jack “Quit eating our Mangos! We need to sell them!”

“But I’m starving!” moaned Samantha

“You just had 25 Mangos five minutes ago!” exclaimed Jack “How can you be hungry?”

“Easy, I just sit here and think about food” said Samantha, making the others sigh tipping their heads down

“Sheesh… every day it’s the same thing” said Mike “Thick clouds, selling Mangos, cleaning the orphanage… Samantha eating food and the freak being a freak!”

Teo just sighed looking away ignoring Mike’s typical insult, he looked ahead and perked up a little seeing someone walk towards their stand, it was Teo’s girlfriend Bowla. So he slowly stood up getting the other’s attentions, Jack and Samantha leaned back slightly being scared of Bowla whereas Mike stood up looking smug. Once Bowla went up to the stand, Teo stepped forward slightly

Teo spoke shyly but smiled “Um... hi-Bow-”

“Hiya Bowla!” said Mike as he quickly pushed Teo to the ground “What’s a cute lil lass like you doing here? Came to see the stud of Mango Island?”

“Mike, we’ve known each other for quite some time now, surely you must know the only reason I come here is because of my favourite little wimp” said Bowla

“I’m still having trouble believing why you prefer the freak over me” said Mike

“Well once you get a brain Bucky, then you’ll understand” said Bowla, she then turned to see Teo who had managed to get up

“So… h-how are you?” asked Teo

“When you’re the daughter of a rich mafia boss, everyday is pleasurable” said Bowla sounding a bit like she was gloating. She then picked up one of the mangos on their table and threw a 2p coin to Teo’s hands surprising him a little “I pretty much have the perfect life”

Suddenly, the kids began to hear a bell ringing, they all looked across the street to see two moustached men wearing red and white striped outfits and flat hats, one was fat, the other was thin. They had a table besides them and a strange metal box with a turning handle on it, next to them was a woman and her 10-year-old daughter.

“Congratulations Ma’am!” said the fat moustached men as he rung his bell “You get a free box of specially decorated Kitchen Utensils! I hope they are to your liking!”

The second man handed the woman a box of Kitchen Utensils that actually looked fancy and expensive, the woman and her daughter then thank the men and walk off cheerfully

“Those oddballs again?” said Bowla

At that point, Samantha quickly walked towards the men with the other kids following them “Hi there, can I have a Mango?” she asked

“So sorry young lady” said the thin moustached man “We are not sales-folk, we are contest folks”

“Contest folks?” asked Mike

“That’s right young man” said the fat moustached man as he pointed to their box which had a sign next to it “We travel the world doing our special ball contests! Play for a small price of 2p and see if you can win a prize” The kids looked at the sign seeing different coloured circles next to pictures of prizes, 7 different coloured circles to be exact.

From down to up it was; a white circle next to nothing, a green circle next to a 2p coin, a yellow circle next to a box of chocolates, a blue circle next to a fancy looking picture frame, a red circle next to a box of kitchen utensils, a silver circle next to gold jewellery, and a gold circle next to six golden rectangles

“For just 2p a go” said the thin moustached man “Can you try and win a prize? You could win a fabulous prize or get nothing, its all down to luck”

“It… sounds like a bit of fun doesn’t it?” said Jack “And I have a 2p coin with me”

“What the heck?” said Mike “Lets try it”

With that, Mike then stood up onto a small wooden box to reach the handle, he takes out a 2p coin and gives it to the men and then he began to turn the handle. At that point, a small white ball fall out of the small hole at the side

“Oh too bad” said the fat moustached man actually looking upset “White ball means no prize”

“Oh yeah” Mike said sounding a bit annoyed as he dug into his pocket, only to realise he only had one 2p coin, looking disappointed he gets off the box and Jack gets onto it to try his luck

“Lets see how my luck draws” said Jack as he hands the men his 2p coin and turns the handle, at that point, a green ball fell out

“Well fancy that” said the thin moustached man “Green ball means you get your coin back, you can either keep it or try again”

“I… better not tempt myself” said Jack as he took back his coin and got off the wooden box

“Understandable” said the fat moustached man

“Luck can only go so far” said the thin moustached man

“My turn” said Samantha as she dug around her skirt pocket for a 2p coin, only to become shocked realising she had spend her only 2p coin on a Mango she bought earlier from another stall - which of course annoyed the others - she simply sighs in an upset tone

“Sorry young lady” said the fat moustached man “Sad that this is our last day here too”

“Do you want to try little lady?” said the thin moustached man facing Bowla “Only 2p”

“Fat chance” said Bowla “I know this is a rip-off! Besides, my daddy could get me anything much better you dolts have right now”

“I see” said the thin moustached man in a cheery tone “And what about your little spiky haired friend there?”

Teo grew a little surprised hearing them talking about him

“No way” said Mike, “Freaks like him don’t have a right to play games”

“You really shouldn’t do it Teo” said Bowla ignoring Mike “They’re con-artists!”

Teo was silent feeling discouraged by both Mike and Bowla

“Its really up to you young lad” said the fat moustached man looking a bit concerned “If you wanna do it then you can, if not then that’s alright”

Teo began to think carefully, both Mike and Bowla said for him not to but, he really did want to, it sounded like fun, and this would be his only chance as they said it was their last day. Teo then looked at the 2p coin he got from Bowla, nodded and stood on the box

“Hey freak! I said you can’t have a go!” shouted Mike about to grab his tail, that was until Bowla stopped him with her arm

“Leave him!” said Bowla “I said it was a bad idea, but let him do it anyway”

At that point, Teo gave the men his first 2p coin and turned the handle slowly feeling nervous, suddenly, to their shock, a gold ball fell out of the box

Bowla looked at the sheet in surprise to see that it was the top prize. Suddenly the two men began to ring their bells excitedly scaring Teo slightly

“CONGRATULATIONS!” shouted the fat moustached man “GOLD BALL! GOLD BALL!”

“THE GREATEST PRIZE” shouted the thin moustached man “ THE RAREST ALSO!”

“What?” asked Bowla as she looked at the sheet “Trading Cards?”

“Even better” said the fat moustached man “six! Count them! six Grand Tickets to an all-expense paid month holiday to Isle Delfino, the sunniest most exotic island in the world!”

Every kid widened their eyes in shock “A… Holiday?” asked Teo

“THAT FREAK WON A FREE HOLIDAY?” Mike shouted looking completely freaked out himself

“No flipping way!” said Bowla looking just as shocked

“Congratulations kiddo” said the thin moustached man “That’s the type of luck that makes Celebrities and Millionaires envious! Consider it your luckiest day ever! A holiday to Isle Delfino is the best prize anyone could get!”

“And the best part…” said the fat moustached man “The Cruise leaves in three days, so say goodbye to the dull lands of Mango Island for a month and say hello to the happy cheerful wonders of Isle Delfino!”

The thin moustached man then took out a small box containing the six tickets and handed them to Teo “Now don’t lose them” said the thin moustached man “Those are more valuable than the Crown Jewels! Come to the docks at 10am in three days, that’s when you can shove off to the wondrous lands of Isle Delfino” With that, the two men immediately picked up their table and dashed off towards the docks

Teo looked at the box, slowly opened it and took out the six golden tickets as he stood off the box to face the others, “A… holiday” Teo said slowly “W-will Miss Hulgary let me?”

“She will” said Bowla “Just mention me and she’ll let you. Assuming of course your gonna let me come with you”

“O-oh of course” said Teo realizing “I… would love for you to come with me… e-especially since you gave me the 2p to use” Teo then opens the box and takes out one of the tickets and hands it to Bowla

“This holiday’s gonna be a blast” said Samantha as she, Mike and Jack all reached out for tickets too

“HOLD IT!” Bowla shouted slamming the box shut before the three could reach “Why should Teo give away tickets to you dead-weights?”

“Because I’m Mike Diego! The boss of the Orphanage!” said Mike

“And I go wherever Mike goes so that counts me in too” said Jack

“And… we’re friends aren’t we?” asked Samantha

“And if the freak doesn’t give us some, he’s not going either” said Mike as he crossed his arms

“I see” said Bowla, she then gently takes the box from Teo “In that case I’ll keep a hold of the box so none of you can take a ticket for yourself!”

“Well… surely Teo would like us to come right?” said Samantha

“Ummm… I… well…” Teo began to act nervously rubbing the back of his head, he then faced Bowla, knowing he had to speak up for this “N-no!” the three were surprised

Mike then grabs Teo’s shirt collar “So that’s it then you selfish freak! You’re just gonna keep the tickets for yourself and not let anyone else have fun too?!”

Bowla then slaps Mike’s hand making him let go of Teo who quickly steps back

“I… I’d like to give the tickets to others… b-but I haven’t decided who they should go to” said Teo “I mean there are other orphans who would probably love to go on this holiday too… there’s Jake, Stewart, Marty and a few others”

“But they all hate you” said Jack

“H-how are you three any different?” asked Teo “In fact you’re all worse than them” Teo started to get a bit more confident now

“I… I don’t hate you” said Samantha looking upset

“No but your freaking annoying” said Bowla

Soon Teo got an idea “Hey Bowla” Teo then moved up to Bowla and whispered something in her ear. Bowla grew surprised and faced Teo who had a bit of a shy smile on him

“Oh… you are evil” said Bowla with a smug tone “I’m so proud of you”

“What?” asked Mike

“Ok here’s Teo’s idea” said Bowla “He will give the tickets to you… but only if you can be nice to him until then”

The three grew shocked “N-nice?!” said the scared Mike

“That… sounds rough” said Jack “Normally I do what Mike does and… well…”

“And to make sure this goes well” said Bowla “Teo will tell me everything you’ve done, and don’t even threaten him because I’ll make sure Teo will say everything. And I’m gonna keep a hold of these tickets until then… you all better know how to if you wanna join the holiday”

Mike and Jack look at one another nervously while Samantha began to think. Teo on the other hand felt a bit nervous thinking of how they’re gonna treat him

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two hours passed and the orphans returned home while Bowla returned to her home with the six tickets. We find Teo in the study lying on the floor reading a slightly ruined but still readable picture book, the only one he could read seeing as he cannot read and write, that was until he noticed a pair of large red feet next to him, he looks up to see it was Samantha

“Uh hiya Teo” said Samantha

“Um... hi Samantha” said Teo as he slowly stood up to face her properly “What’s up?”

“I… I really wanna go on that holiday with you” said Samantha “But I know I gotta be really nice right?”

“A-according to Bowla yes” said Teo

“Well… here” Samantha then took out a double chocolate bar from behind her back still in the wrapper. Teo’s eyes widened at this

“Isn’t that… your favourite chocolate bar?” asked Teo

“Y-yeah… I… I’d like… you to have it” said Samantha looking as if she was about to cry

“Are… you sure?” asked Teo

“Of course! W-we are friends right?” said Samantha

Teo was hesitant at first but he then gently took the chocolate bar as he looked at Samantha forcing a smile “T-thank you Samantha”

“Your… w-welcome” said Samantha “Now… I must be off”

Samantha soon walked out of the study, but as she was out of sight, she immediately ran back to her room crying without anyone noticing. Teo enjoyed every bit of the chocolate bar, mostly because not only did it taste so good, but all he ever had as food were mangos, so it felt really nice to have something new

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At Bowla’s mansion, she had just finished saying everything to her father Antonio Mervaradi, a muscular man with a huge red moustache and a blue suit to match. Antonio simply looked a the box of tickets

“And the best part… Teo’s bullies now have to be nice to him so they can join the holiday” said Bowla

“Can’t imagine a little runt like him winning this” said Antonio, who always had a low opinion on Teo for being shy and timid “But it IS luck based I guess”

“So me and Teo are gonna go on an all expense paid trip to Isle Delfino” said Bowla

“Well I’m going too” said Antonio confusing Bowla, he then opened the box and took out one of the tickets “First off, all-expense or not, I’m not letting you go without a parent or guardian, you’re too young to go on your own… and Teo couldn’t defend you even if he had a mini-gun. Also I’ve never heard of Isle Delfino and I’ve travelled the world, so this could be a hoax or something”

“What about Mom?” asked Bowla

“Your mother hates holidays” said Antonio “So she’ll probably wanna stay here instead. Now I don’t care if these are Teo’s tickets or not, you still need a guardian so I’m coming too, whether or not he cares”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

An hour later, we find Mike near one of the mango trees poking one of the mangos down with a stick, as soon as it dropped, Mike caught it and began to eat it as he walked off. He turned a corner to see Teo and Jack reading a large book as the sat against the wall

“But Shiranui refused to give in! With its last ounce of strength, the majestic wolf gazed heavenly and unleashed a mighty howl. Suddenly the black clouds overhead dissipated, the light from above glinted Nagi’s sword as a beacon of hope” said Jack reading out the book “Guided by his sword, Nagi who had been taking shelter in the shadows-”

“Jack?” asked Mike “What are you doing?”

“Oh Mike!” said Jack feeling a bit shocked as he stood up along with Teo “I…”

“You’re trying to get a ticket too aren’t you?” asked Mike looking a bit upset

“Well I WAS gonna just let him borrow my favourite book” said Jack nervously “But he couldn’t read so…”

Mike simply sighed “So my own friend decided to read a story for the freak”

“Well I’d really like to go on that holiday and Bowla said we have to be nice to him” said Jack “I thought you were planning on being nice to Teo too”

“I… well” Mike rubbed the back of his head looking nervous “Well yes but… being nice to a freak is a bit much, even for a month-long holiday”

“It… is three days from now” said Teo “N-not being mean is a start”

Mike crossed his arms and grunted slightly, he never liked listening to other’s suggestions, especially Teo’s. But if he wanted to go on that holiday, he HAD to do something, especially since Bowla had the tickets and he knew Bowla could beat him up easily

“Well don’t worry Mike” said Jack “I’m sure just not being mean would be enough to help you win a ticket”

Mike was silent, but he then sighed “F-fine! I won‘t be mean, even if it is necessary” and he walks off in a huff

(A part of me is saying I should milk this a little) thought Teo (Then again I also think of the consequences when Mike gets that ticket and the holiday’s over) Teo shudders a little but then looks back at Jack

“Uh, shall we continue?” asked Jack

“Y-yes please” said Teo

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next day, we find Teo walking past the orphanage gate after having a quick visit round Bowla’s mansion to talk to her, at that point, Teo comes across Mike and Jack again who were filling the baskets up with Mangos to sell them. (Ok, you can do this) thought Teo feeling nervous

Teo then walks up to the two “Oh Teo, where were you?” asked Jack feeling a bit nervous

“I uh…I spoke to Bowla” said Teo “She told me that Mike not being mean is enough”

“WHAT?!?!” shouted Mike scaring Teo slightly “But me not being mean is already becoming a drag! What else do I have to do?!”

“Um… B-Bowla said you have to try and be nice” said Teo softly

“NICE!?!?!?” shouted Mike again looking as if he was about to have a stroke “BUT I… I I I I!!!”

“Mike, please calm down” said Jack looking panicked “Look, I’m sure if you just be a little nice to Teo, everything will be worth it”

“It better be!” said Mike

“Well in any case, we should get going, it’ll be almost time for us to try and sell these mangos… speaking of which where’s Samantha?”

Suddenly Mike got his answer as Samantha fell out of the tree nearest to them with two mangos in her mouth and a bunch under her arms

“Samantha?” asked Jack “What-”

“No amount of mangos can make up for the chocolate I gave to Teo” Samantha sobbed

(Maybe I should’ve just given her the ticket right away instead) thought Teo feeling guilty, “I’m uh… gonna go get the sign” and Teo walks away hoping to get away from the awkwardness

“Now don’t worry Mike” said Jack “I can tell you how to be nice each time when the opportunity comes”

“Alright fine, I’ll take your advice” Mike then grabbed Jack by the tie and pulled him closer “But if this all turns out to be not worth it, you’ll be getting a four storey atomic wedgie!”

Jack gulps “Ok”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At last the day of the Holiday has started, it was 9:30am and we find Bowla and Antonio at the docks next to a very large boat where the same two moustached men were. Both Bowla and Antonio had a pile of suitcases with them. Not long later, we find Samantha and Jack walking up to Bowla and Antonio

“Hiya Bowla, Hiya Mr. Mafia Boss” said Samantha making Jack nervous

“Where’s Teo?” asked Bowla

“He’ll be here shortly” said Jack feeling awkward “Mike’s… well its better you see for yourself”

Bowla looked ahead to see Mike was slowly walking towards them, but while holding a wooden chair above his head which Teo sat on as he carried his stuffed rabbit named Baby Bunny. Bowla raised an eyebrow at this “Is Mike really that desperate for a ticket?”

Once Mike made it to the docks, he slowly placed the chair down and sighed “Phew, glad that’s over”

“Teo’s as light as a feather Bucky” said Bowla “Surely you’re not that tired”

“I’ve been carrying him for THREE HOURS!!!!” shouted Mike

“Plus Mike also shared his food, gave Teo his spot in the markets, opening the doors for him, defended him from other bullies and didn’t call him a freak at all” said Jack

Bowla just looked at Jack with widened eyes “woah” she muttered, never being so surprised in her life. But then she takes out the ticket box “So Teo, have they all earned a ticket”

“Y-yes” said Teo “Even Mike”

“Heh, guess the holiday is worth being nice for three days, especially since we’re staying for a month” said Bowla, she then opens the box and Mike, Jack and Samantha each take their ticket

“This holiday better be worth it” said Mike

“Oh I’m sure it will be” said the fat moustached man

“Isle Delfino is the sunniest, luxurious, and most beautiful island in the world” said the thin moustached man “You’ll hardly find any competition between other holiday resorts”

“I’ll be the judge of that” said Antonio “I’ve never even heard of this Isle Delfino, so how do I know its not some sort of trick”

“Oh we assure you” said the fat moustached man “Isle Delfino is real and the best”

“Anyway, is everyone accounted for?” asked the thin moustached man

“Yep” said Bowla “All six of us are here and ready to go and…” Bowla looked at the orphans quickly realising something “Where are your bags?”

“We don’t have any bags” said Jack “We’re poor”

“I have what I want” said Teo as he looked at his stuffed rabbit “Right Baby Bunny?”

“Oh don’t worry about that” said the fat moustached man “Our cruise comes with everything needed for a summer holiday, even a set of lighter summer clothing, trust me, you‘ll need to change into them since it’ll be very hot on Isle Delfino”

“Well that’s convenient” said Mike

“Well whatever, lemme in, I wanna see the luxuries of this ship!” said Bowla

“Certainly” said the thin moustached man as he and his partner moved out of the way to show the large board leading up to the ship, Bowla immediately dashed up it as did Mike, Jack and Samantha, Teo then slowly walks up it and once he made it, Antonio faced the two moustached man and pointed his gun at the fat moustached man

“If this is a con, you’re both dead” said Antonio

“I’ll take my chance” said the fat moustached man with no fear what-so-ever

Antonio then began to walk up the board as he put his gun away. The two moustached men then made their way up the board

Once everyone was on the boat, the ship began to sail off from Mango Island early. Teo looked at the side of the ship to see Mango Island getting smaller and smaller and soon the ship began to penetrate the giant cloud barrier that surrounded Mango Island for over 100 years

Soon the kids were blinded by the beautiful sun shining across the blue sky, because all they saw were giant thick grey clouds, seeing the sun this bright almost surprised them with the exception of Bowla and Antonio who have left Mango Island plenty of times before

Teo soon looked at his ticket seeing it glitter in the sun light, almost as if it was made of real gold. He was still surprised how he won a free holiday for a month, he felt as if this was going to be the best month of his life

“Hey guys!” shouted Jack from one of the doors leading into the ship‘s interior “There’s a huge buffet in this room! We better chow down before Samantha scoffs the lot!”

“Free food?” asked Mike, “I’m SO in!” he dashed off towards the door but quickly swerves around Teo instead of pushing past him which made Teo confused

(I wonder if he knows he doesn’t have to be mean to me anymore? Oh well, best not tell him) thought Teo as he ran off to the buffet room
we finally have the intro to a fan-fiction that should've been here since October... maybe even sooner -_-;

oh well, just to let each of you know, these Mango Island Kids spin-offs take a more humorous style rather than series like my other Teo comics
